A seminar of Cisco CCNA was held at Janakpuri on 17th July headed by Nitin Nayyar (CCNA Certified). In Cisco Workshop we covered some topics related to Cisco Like SDM , XMODEM Recovery Process, all Routing Configuration & Troubleshooting , IPv4 & IPV6 And WAN Technologies.
Cisco SDM is an intuitive, Web-based device-management tool for Cisco IOS® Software-based routers. The Cisco SDM simplifies router and security configuration through smart wizards, which help customers and Cisco partners quickly and easily deploy, configure, and monitor a Cisco router without requiring knowledge of the command-line interface (CLI). The Cisco SDM is supported on a wide range of Cisco routers and Cisco IOS Software releases.
Xmodem can be used on a group of routers and is used in disaster recovery situations where the router has no valid Cisco IOS software or bootflash image to boot from and hence, only boots up in ROMmon. This procedure can also be used where there are no Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) servers or network connections, and a direct PC connection (or through a modem connection) to the router's console is the only viable option. Because this procedure relies on the console speed of the router and the serial port of the PC, it can take a long time to download an image. For example, downloading Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(16) IP Plus image to a Cisco 1600 Series Router using a speed of 38400 bps takes approximately 25 minutes.
Preparing Your Network for the Future
Ipv6 is a new IP protocol mandated by the federal government for compliance across all organizations, It is designed to replace IPv4, the Internet protocol currently deployed and used most extensively throughout the world.
The benefits of IPv6 include:
- Simplified packet header for routing efficiency
- Mandatory IP Security (IPSec) implementation for all IPv6 devices
- Improved support for mobile IP and mobile computing devices
- Enhanced multicast support with increased addresses and efficient mechanisms
